EAST HAMPTON GRILL

I apologize for being away & thank you for all the e mails! Between traveling & the holidays, its been crazy busy but this next post will be well worth the wait!

I dined at the EAST Hampton Grill this past weekend.
Not only was it one of the BEST dining experiences I have EVER had, (TOP five ever) it was most likely the BEST PIECE OF MEAT I HAVE EVER EATEN!

Located at 99 N Main Street in East Hampton, this trendy stylish new restaurant is filled with dark wood decor, great art, large glass windows, beautiful high ceilings, great lighting, a huge gorgeous state of the art tiled open kitchen, a great bar with lots of stools for dining at the bar when one does not have a reservation, as well as high tops for additional seating in the bar area and then the dining room.

Where do I begin? It's a wonderful atmosphere- not a typical "snooty" place. The staff is friendly, warm & inviting. The menu is spectacular and multi dimensional.

The appetizers- all fantastic & so hard to decide which to have! The oysters were outstanding- not your standard oysters rockefeller- they were plump, moist, lightly dusted in a cornmeal crust, atop the most wonderful creamed spinach, grilled shredded artichokes and topped with an incredible delicious lemon aioli. It sounds lethally rich, but it was just an explosion of taste! OMG!

Next, (& not on the menu) but always available upon request ,is the enormous jumbo shrimp cocktail- cooked & chilled to perfection served with both cocktail sauce and a savory twist on a rich and creamy remoulade- excellent.

All the appetizers and the many salads are also wonderful and all are equally outstanding and wonderful to devour.

Entrees- the menu again is vast and quite interesting, I went for the Dover sole- beyond perfection and large portion, served with grilled asparagus and absolute perfection- moist, The bone in rib eye, not only was the MOST delicious & perfectly cooked steak, but it was the most amazing sight to behold- a HUGE thick melt in your mouth marinated well seasoned perfect piece of meat on a huge bone, -hands down, the best piece of meet we have ever eaten & can rival ANY steak house- bar none! Words cannot even describe!!!!!!
It was served with colorful and delicious large portion of quarters of seasonal heirloom tomatoes of green, yellow and red topped with crumbled blue cheese- just staggeringly tasty!

The prices are actually quite fair, not out of line, even for the Hamptons and so well worth every savory bite!

Do check out this wonderful new place and be sure to call for a reservation so you don't get turned away or have to wait! But if you do wait its WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!
